To host a Family Photo Buddy Server, you'll need:
- A computer connected to the Internet or your local network running Windows NT/2000/XP to be the server.
-To be capable of setting up your own network stuff if you have to open port(s) through firewalls, etc. Generally you just run it, the other computers connect, and it is easy to get going. The network can be running TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, or NetBIOS.
The databases can require log in with user names and passwords for complete security. Some users can be "read only".
When not in use, the server uses very little CPU or other resources. It won't bog down the computer it is running on, even when in use for that matter.
